Emily Irene VanCamp who initially wanted to become professional dancer, became interested in acting after visiting her sister Katie in the making of the movie Ladies Room. While taking classes in acting, she also landed part-time roles in Canadian television shows. Some of the shows she had starred in among other shows were Are You Scared of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp achieved a major career break after he was selected to play the role of regular Sam Dolan in WB's horror show, the mystery Glory Days. Although the show received positive reviews, this show's poor ratings unfortunately caused it to be cancelled after just nine episodes. However, she was successful in landing a second role as Amy Abbott on Everwood. She was nominated to win four Teen Choice Awards and a Young Artist Award.
